5 ways networking will change your life!

Over the last year I have been using LinkedIn a lot more. In this blog I’m going to discuss 5 ways networking on the platform has benefitted me and how it can benefit you, ultimately changing your life for the better!

1 – A new perceptive.

LinkedIn is a brilliant platform for gaining valuable insights. For example, Asim Qureshi is a regular poster on LinkedIn who always posts very analytical insights. While I don’t always agree with his opinions, I find his posts interesting.

So many posts on LinkedIn are like this; people sharing their opinions and analysis on day-to-day topics.

2: It’s easy to get started.

LinkedIn is a super straightforward platform. You don’t even need to write well to go viral on LinkedIn. By creating content that you think is valuable, you’ll do well on the platform.

Here’s a post by my girlfriend, Monika, to show you how easy it is. Monika didn’t spend long on this post, and she’s by no means an expert. This post has over 17,000 views!

3: You could get offered internships and jobs.

Posting regularly on LinkedIn, resulted in me getting 2 job offers, and 2 internship offers, within 2 months this summer. Consistent posting and helping out where possible are the main reasons I got offered these. I would often contact individuals and make meaningful conversation.

4: LinkedIn could change the course of your whole life!

I’m serious! It actually could. It did for me. Before I had joined LinkedIn, I thought I wanted to work in finance. After reading posts and chatting to people about their careers, I decided that I really, really did not want to work in finance. I was truly passionate about marketing! If it wasn’t for LinkedIn, there is a very good chance that I would be going into the finance industry when I graduate.

5: You can ask (almost) anyone anything!

The vast majority of people on LinkedIn are very receptive to helping people when they can. I’ve contacted countless celebrities (in their field) and asked them for advice. 90% of them get back to me and give me some invaluable advice.
